Starting wiring diagram

Post by masoncp13 »

Recently I've been having issues with starting my 62 bird and noticed a small electrical fire and then some erroneous wiring. I have not found the correct wiring however. I need a correct wiring diagram between the battery, starter solenoid, alternator, voltage regulator, and the ignition switch and the coil if it is used in this situation.

Get the 1962 Osborn Electrical Assembly Manual. All of the wiring diagrams and schematics with wire colors are in there. All of the Thunderbird vendors carry it.

Here is a very large version: http://www.southsandia.com/forum/pictur ... iagram.pdf

It is not from the Osborn manual. It is from the wiring diagram manual that you can pick up for about $7 from the T-Bird suppliers. There is no copyright claim in the book. This same diagram is on page 10-32 of the manual which you should definitely have in your possession.
