My 63 has three holes and it was a simple bolt on operation.
Friends 62 also has three and just recently has installed the same 66 setup...

ah.. it's only for the late 62 then.

I guess an early 62 like mine has no choice but to go with the shims.

Dag nabbit.

After that last posting of mine, I wondered the same thing-if the later 62s were different.
Anyway, if you have the braces and the brackets, like Beach Bum said, have the brackets drilled and you should be set.
Truly sorry for any confusion..

Beach Bum wrote:OK... so I'm looking at the driver's side brace on my '63 because I'm going to have to deal with the same dual master cylinder clearance issue in a couples of month... I know some people do some cutting and trimming of the stock brace to make it work and others go for the '66 T-bird braces with the mounting plates off the '66 shock towers to get the slight 'up angle' necessary for even the '66 brace to clear. But, like, I'm looking at where my '63 brace mates onto to the 'tongue' on my mounting plate on my shock tower and thinking to myself: "Hey, self? Why couldn't you insert a couple of metal shims between the brace and the tongue of the mounting plate and raise the brace/change the angle to get enough clearance? It obviously doesn't have to be all that much..."

Or am I just being silly to think it could be this simple?:

Luck be my lady, I saw two t-birds today. One was from Texas, brought it all the way to Torrance, CA to get work done on it... and low n behold, they used your technique.

Saw a 61 and lo-n-behold, they used your technique as well.

Had another person email me a picture of their shock tower mount... and they had 3 hole + eyelet.. while mine has 4 holes + eyelet.

*SIGH* Why must I have the "left overs" T-bird?!

If you look at the base, the white fender, there ARE three holes, but they don't line up at all with the 66 shock tower mounts.

Weird how mine is a "63A" body, but uses the 61 four bolts instead of the three bolt + eyelet.

Pictures of my "TAG" so people can help me decipher what exactly went wrong with my bird LOL
