At Cardrona for a beer

Post by scumdog »

(OK, trying to post a bigger picture so fingers crossed guys!!)

We were in the Cardrona Valley near Wanaka in the South Island when we decided a beer was needed, the store is right beside an iconic old bar so we stopped and had us a brew.

I will try to get a picture of mine in storage this week. It won't be great but it will be a picture. Great idea to post these, it's fun to see others cars.

(First post)

Here's "Clarice" (respectfully named after the 3rd owner, from whom I bought her), a '66 Town Hardtop Coupe:

Shipped her in from Portland, Oregon a few years back. Basically original (lower body was repainted prior), never seen a salty midwest winter (pretty unusual for around these parts).

She needs brakes now. Anyone got a recommendation for that kind of work in the Twin Cities?

Here are some photos of my 1966 Hardtop. Mostly an original survivor. I have accumulated a lot of extra parts such as the driver's side mirror which is incorrect on the pictures as well as interior/exterior trim including the elusive fender skirt trim which is also not on the car yet. Needs a resto but someday!

Nice car John, that Sauterne Gold must be a rare color, I don't think I've seen another one like it.
Where in Edm. are you located? Maybe we can meet for cruising sometime.

Thanks 60fore. I'm located deep in the west end in Parkland which is just south of Lewis Estates. It would be great to do some cruisin' if the weather would actually start to cooperate. I don't know how rare the color is but it is different more green than gold as the name implies, one of those cool 60's colors.

Thanks, Daniel.

Whoever did the turquoise repaint for the prior owner wasn't quite up to "Concours" caliber. But, even at age 43, "Clarice" still turns heads  .

Ahhh - some awesome new additions. Very cool!
I really enjoy getting to see other cars for their different colours, options, add-ons, etc. It's amazing how different these cars can look within the same bodystyle, or even year model.
