Is it my tranny?

Post by Richard »

This happened once last year and then last night. After warming up my 65 and taking off the car feels like the tranny slipping and then the car shakes violently on the front end. Come off the gas and then take off again violently shakes again. Drove around for a few minutes in my area and then off to the local cruise night and does not happen again. Even after sitting for 3 hours at the cruise night and driving home which is about 5 miles didnt happen again. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Sounds more like a missing cylinder. When was the last time you changed the spark plug wires or distributor cap and rotor?

Ignition problems often happen when cold and then go away because once everything gets warm anything that has moisture where it shouldn't be drys out. Look at the: cap, rotor, wires, points, coil
