Thanks for sharing your beautiful '67! I rarely see them except at shows, and not often there. How did your restoration proceed, and did you do some of the work yourself?

Thanks for the compliment. When I acquired the car four years ago from the original owners my initial plan was to just paint the car and update it a little. When I took the car into the restoration shop and talked to the owner I quickly realized I’d never be happy with that plan so I decided to do a complete frame of restoration. The car was disassembled and the paint was taken back to bare metal. Every component on the car was ultimately replaced new or restored to original condition. My only disappointment with the project was our failure to find replacement door and window weatherstripping. We looked everywhere to no avail. We had to reuse the original and that was obviously not the best solution considering that the car was restored to new condition. The restoration took over three years and I learned patience I thought I never had. And no, I didn’t do any of the physical work myself but I did help with searching the Internet for replacement parts.

"My only disappointment with the project was our failure to find replacement door and window weatherstripping." Did you try Steele Rubber?

Yes. I’ve checked Steele many times. No luck. I’m still hoping someone will decide to reproduce the weatherstripping someday.
