Hood Release

Post by Dave 82 Heritage »

Just bought an 82 Heritage Bird. I need to know how to open the hood if the cable breaks? Can I install a backup for this cable?

Thanks!

Been a long time since I dealt with a broke cable('69 Talladega) but never forget always laying on my side and reaching up about a full arms extent right behind the center of bumper, I know that info is a little out-dated.....on the cable part, Thunderbird cable is probably hard to find, But I would not be shocked to find that early fox('79-'82) Mustang uses the same cable that might be easier to find though a lot of Mustang outlets....push come to shove, go with one of those and at worst you'd have to jerry-rig how it connects under the dash because I'm pretty sure it connects on the hood release lever all the same........
