1968 Quarter window motor replacement

Post by Lima One »

I bought my '68 2-door in 2003. The quarter window motors were dead then. I removed the interior panels several years to investigate and couldn't see how to replace them. Now I am beginning a "full" restoration and will eventually need to get them replaced. Looking for guidance/advice.

Big job, mostly accomplished/restored "on the bench", as an assembly, or "cassette".

You will NEED a pair of these https://www.tbirdhq.com/pc_product_deta ... 715B6ADF09
Which are thankfully for you and others, now (very recently) available to purchase. Don't balk at the price, if you understood the alternative.

You will also need this. The Blue one, choose your price and condition... https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R ... l&_sacat=0

Test and test and test and quintuple re-test everything before installing and painstakingly adjusting the cassettes.

Please ask questions if, and as you get "stuck" in your journey.

Happy Birding!

Thanks, stove.

I never received a notice that you had replied. It'll be quite some time before I get to that part of the restore.
