Brake light switch connectors

Post by Ducksface »

My car, built Oct 31st 1962 has individual connectors as seen on page h3-27 of the build guide.
The car I'm ravaging for parts, built Nov 2nd 1962, has the one piece 'cap' type connector.

Why?
Is this a convertible vs hardtop thing?
Is this the change date for a line change.
(My vin doesn't match production numbers. As if it were pulled off the line. According to my vin, they only built 50 cars the 7 days prior to my build[per the m code registry regarding an m car vin/build date] yet built 3100 cars shown in just two days after my car)
Or
I sure don't know how vins worked on the line.... I really don't have a clue.
