Instrument cluster restoration

Post by Freddy »

I am not having any luck with google on finding a business to have my instrument cluster restored on my 1956 Ford Thunderbird. The speedometer needs is not working properly, it is fine up until ten miles per hour and then the needle jumps to eighty miles per hour. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried Keystone?
They do a great job on antique aircraft instruments.

There is a rather lengthy "Services" section in Hemmings Motor News. You should find several qualified persons.

Williamson's in Arkansas repairs instruments. They are highly recommended. Also a place named Bob's Speedometers is supposed to be very good.

It may not be the speedometer itself. It sounds like the cable is in need of lubrication or needs replacement.

As above your cable may need lube. Graphite loaded speedometer cable lube is available at any auto parts store. As far as a restoration, Seattle speedometer in Ellensberg WA does full restorations.
