rear suspension

Post by jbk772211 »

t-birds are new to me as I said before, a lot to read to understand. The car measures CHL & CTL correctly, however when parked at flat surface the back looks like its body needs to come up about 3/4 to 1 inch in the rear. It has a 4 leaf spring and I'm afraid that a 5 leaf will get it up to high and be stiffer. I'm romancing the thought of installing a set of Gabriel hijackers to gain that 3/4 to 1 inch. I used Hijackers long ago to adjust body levels, I understand the newer shocks will last almost forever. damn all I need is 3/4 to 1 in. All help is welcome.

I think you would get a better response if you actually posted in the relevant year Thunderbird section as opposed to the General Discussion, which is usually for anything other than Tbird stuff. Anyway on my 64 I turned the shackles upside down for a cheap fix.
