1957 top windshield molding removal

Post by cscolastico »

Good morning ladies and gentlemen. Hope everyone is weathering this covid19 crises well.
I have been in the processes of polishing and buffing the trim on my 57. I have restored the stainless trim on the top of the door window, the lower dash/windshield trim and the door garnishes.
I am now up to the outside top windshield trim and would like some advice on how to safely remove it. ( I assume it is stainless as well). The trim and sealer manual seems to say that it is held in place with retainer clips. Do I just pry the trim off with a screwdriver or something similar. Of course, I don't want to scratch or damage it.

As always, thanks for any help.

Lift it from the inside and keep pushing around the header and it kinda rolls off the clips. Installation is much harder.
