57 interior replacement

Post by vernz » Fri Jun 14, 2019 11:21 am

I am going to replace the interior carpet and seat covers on my 57 bird. I obtained the materials and planned to "reverse engineer" the installation process but would certainly do better with some tips and guidance. Can anyone recommend a book or other reference material that would help me on this project? I also looked around for measurements for locating seat belt anchor locations but failed so far. Can anyone direct me to a source for that information?

Thanks, Vern

CASCO also sells replacement seat belts. They also have a real nice reservation shop and welcome customers to speak directly with their techs. They redid my seat. It is not an easy job although many novelists have done it.

Steve Warner (Potomac Classic Thunderbird Club President, Chapter 23 of CTCI) and I wrote a 2 part article on installing the seat covers on the early T-Birds. Send me a PM if you would like me to send you a copy. I will tell you it is a lot of work and time consuming, but can be done by a competent do-it-yourselfer.
