Finally got my battery!!

Finally got my battery!!
Ordered a battery from Battery Central back in Feb. It comes direct from Antique Battery. The last story I got was they had no red caps. So I said put back ones on and ship it. I get the battery with red caps on it and a set of black ones in the box....As far as i am concerned I'm glad I waited the stock appearing look is exactly what I was going for.

Re: Finally got my battery!!
I finally got mine in also; had even canceled the order because it had taken so long but got it anyway, and have accepted it.
I am told that Antique Battery has gone out of business, but a person that worked there has taken over. The new company is Jim's Battery. Did you have a business card in your shipment from Jim's Battery?

Re: Finally got my battery!!
No card in my box. The box it said it came from Antique Battery on the packing slip. I was told that the company had a new manager and that was supposed to be the hold up back in April. I'm not sure what to believe.

Re: Finally got my battery!!
Isn't that the incorrect battery for a 56/ That battery, as far as I know, was first used in 57.

Re: Finally got my battery!!
This is all good news! Perhaps my battery that I paid for back in April will show up soon. I called the other day and was promised my battery no later than the second week in July.
About the battery shown in the picture, the yellow cap should be the 32NP battery. The red caps should be used with the smaller 29NF battery.

Re: Finally got my battery!!
Looks to be correct for my car; original Invoice shows a whopping $5.25 for the larger battery and it was equipped w/ the longer and three post battery retainer setup (which I think is original to the car).
Re: Finally got my battery!!
I've judged a lot of early Birds and have never seen the larger battery or the three post battery retainer on a 56 . I guess anything is possible

Re: Finally got my battery!!
According to the Thunderbird Restoration Details and Specifications Manual, both the Group 29 and Group 32 batteries were used in 1956. The caps are red on the Group 29 and yellow on the Group 32.
Re: Finally got my battery!!
Ok -I was wrong. I talked to two TBirders today about it and they agree that the 32 battery was available in 56. I learn something new about these cars every time to talk to different owners.

Re: Finally got my battery!!
JAkinson, I am glad you finally received your battery. I ordered mine in February and still haven't received it. I got an email from Wayne at Battery Central in April saying the battery would be shipped in two weeks. That was two months ago!

Re: Finally got my battery!!
I just received a notice from UPS that my battery is scheduled for delivery tomorrow. I had almost given up hope until others on here indicated that they had received theirs.
