How long have you owned your bird

Post by kevindeluca66 »

I have owned my Bird for 14 years and 1 month today.

Congratulations to my mom today on 50 years of ownership to the same car as she picked up her 1966 convertible 50 years ago today.
A 66 Thunderbird is cool. A Sapphire Blue 66 is a beautiful car. The 428 engine completes the package.

Hard to believe, for me anyway...
I bought my '65 convertible in July, 1989. That's 27 years.
I know many who have had theirs much longer.

35 Years 6 months - 1963 hardtop
3 weeks - 1963 Sports Roadster
How long have I waited for a T-bird convertible/Sports Roadster? About 40 years...thus giving credence to the adage that patience is a virtue.

I have owned my bird sine 4th of July this year. Have always admired the Thunderbirds, never thought I would own one until my wife decided she preferred a 57 Tbird to any other car. now she has the car of her dreams but lost her husband in the garage.

39 years. Got it from my dad who was the second owner.
It was a fun car for a kid in the late 70's when all the new cars were gutless. I especially like spanking new Camaro's on the freeway but stayed away form anything like that off the line. I knew how to pick my fights!
1964 Coupe Wimbledon white/Rangoon Red w/black int. Owned for 42 years. It was my folks car before that (second owners). VTCI # 12013.

I've had mine from around '75. It was young enough have not been messed with much but I did have to replace the engine due to freeze damage as it sat for a couple of years with no antifreeze. Just put in the second exhaust system.
