Blue Thunder intake and Y block

Post by TNcoupe »

Seems like I have a Blue Thunder intake on my Y Block in my 55. Its aluminum with a Ford casting number on it. I plan on taking the Y block out and replacing it with a Windsor based engine and an AOD instead of the Ford O Matic. Would I be better off parting the engine out or selling it as a whole?

I know this post is from February but I think I would have kept the engine and tranny if they were original to the car.

Too many things that werent original to the car to worry about the engine. Its long gone now. Gonna drop in a 302 with all aluminum top end and a C4. Already have it built just saving up the money for rack and pinion steering before it goes in.

Ask some questions about steering radius on the rack and pinion steering. Some of the kits make the radius a lot bigger.
