CB's are cheap. I would pick up a new one (note the old ones current rating) ans swap it out just to see if that's the problem.
1964 Coupe Wimbledon white/Rangoon Red w/black int. Owned for 42 years. It was my folks car before that (second owners). VTCI # 12013.

I will get some new and see if that works. The old pump never had this problem though. I guess the new pumps are more demanding ;)
