Label, 1962 Power Window Instruction

Post by jrbudwig »

Hello Forum,

Looking for source For the Power Window Instruction Label (P/N: C2AB-6221428-A) as referenced below from the 1962 Thunderbird Electrical Assembly Manual, VIEW-B from page E2-4670-3, “INSTALLATION – ELECTRIC WINDOW REGULATORS MODELS ALL.”

1) Does anyone have a source or possibly a survivor car that might still have the label or some remnants remaining where you might be able to post a picture?

2) Or does anyone know if the Label was used on the 1964-1966 models years and like to the above would you be able to post a picture?

Thank you in advance for your response!

All the Best,

Jonathan

In all my years of documenting and researching things like this, other than reference in the '62 Interior Trim Assembly Manual I have yet to see any evidence that this decal was installed on '62 or other 'Birds, such as decal adhesive residue or fragments of one. Note that the decal has a '62 full-size Ford part number: upper door garnish trim on early '60s full-size Fords, except for the '62.5-'64 Galaxie 500/XLs, used a textured, vinyl-coated metal that would be more receptive to application of a decal than the padded vinyl of '61-'66 T-bird door panels.

In short, I wouldn't worry about it.

The 65 Osborn body/trim manual shows a seat belt buckle holder. Nobody has ever seen one, and a good source (Martin Brugman) told me they never went into production. JMO, Bob C
It's gonna be cool when it's done

The 10,000 original mile '62 survivor I owned did not have this sticker, and there was no evidence (ie. adhesive residue) to indicate one had ever been installed.
Currently Birdless....we'll see how long that lasts!
