Over the history of the VTCI Forum we have a lot of "one-timers" - people who post something for sale or wanted as their only involvement - and they fail to provide basic information that a potential buyer would like to know. It's real frustrating to have someone list something for sale and not know anything more than what they're selling. Is it possible to get a "sticky" in place to give people who are not members and only sign up to sell something basic guidelines as to what's required to post an ad? Things like:
-Where's the car/parts located? City, state-province/country?
-If it's a car for sale - mileage, condition, options on the car, modifications?
-If it's parts for sale, shipping arrangements and whether they'll ship outside of the continental USofA?
-Asking price?
-Contact information (other than an email address) - phone, physical address (City/state-province-whatever)?
-Ad posting policies (i.e no "back to the top/bump" action- this ISN'T the Hokey Assed Message Board (HAMB)!
And what's our policies re. non-VTCI member advertising?

Some good points Alan.
On the VTCI member only posting don't know if I agree with that one as lots of us VTCI members have found some good parts at reasonable prices or maybe not that reasonable but where else could you find a N.O.S. 1962 Grille in the box reasonable.

Good point, Jim. I can't argue with that one.tbird wrote:Some good points Alan.

Re: For Sale/Wanted "Sticky" with minimum ad requirements
Alan,
the policy of this forum is anyone can join (including non-VTCI members) the forum and use it only to sell parts... as long as they are not a vendor. Vendors must advertise in the Scoop before they can use the forum to sell parts or cars. I can put a sticky as a suggestion on the for sale area to please list the points you have suggested.

Thanks, Terri. Hopefully people will read the sticky before posting, but I won't hold my breath over it.

I think Terri is waiting for you to make a list of the points you wanted posted before she posted the sticky.
They are still posting selling or wanting larger items with no location.
Missed that Terri had put the list on the for sale section it just needs to be added to the wanted area.
