Oh boy.
While I've got to give due credit for his fabbing skills, and the T5 conversion is very cool, I'm afraid I've got to give the looks "two thumbs down". The side pipes, air cleaner through the hood, and the 4-wheel-drive stance are just plain fugly, ESPECIALLY on a Townie. It would have looked marginally better on a Std. Hardtop, but not by much.

I like it, except for the unfinished look of the air cleaner. With all the fabbing for the 5 speed, I think I would have gone the extra distance and found a way to lower the engine a bit, use a thinner air filter, and cut and raised the hood scoop just enough to clear the filter.

MY take?

Way-cool car, love the 5-speed adaption and engineering etc BUT it needs to lose the side-pipes and drop about 3". (But then it's not my car, each to their own)

I'm OK with the scoop/filter thing
