61 & 62-63 Strut Rod Bushings

Post by wiscomick »

Can anyone confirm if the updated 62-63 design strut rod bushings fit the 61 cars? Also, is anyone aware of any polyurethane versions out there? Looking to replace a rotten set on my 61 but would like to install a proper upgrade if possible. Thanks!!

I cannot answer your question about parts interchangeability of parts across the years.

I can offer an opinion about polyurethane bushings. The plus side is that they are more durable and they can improve steering response and handing.

The negative side is that they can make the vehicle ride rougher. transmit more vibration, and tend to squeak even if they are greaseable.

The rubber bushings on your car are gone mainly due to age. If you install rubber bushings in now I doubt it you will ever need to replace them again as long as you own the vehicle.
