LED Work Lights and Flashlights

Post by Rusty57 »

Does anyone make an LED work or flashlight with just a simple "On-Off" switch?

Don't get me wrong. I love the brightness and low energy consumption of LED lights.

It drives me crazy that you cannot just turn them on and off and back on. I have 1 flashlight and a headband work lamp that I have to cycle through 3 modes (bright, low, and flashing) every time i turn it off from bright and want to turn it back on bright. That is especially annoying with the headband work lamp. I have 2 flashlights and a work light that cycle through decreasing brightness in 3 or 4 steps when you want to turn it off. A couple of the flashlights seem to have a mind of their own. They will switch modes if you even lightly bump them against something.

From my view this a case of technology taken too far.

Try holding the power button until the light turns off. I have several LED flashlights and if you hold the power button it skips the other modes and turns off.

A couple of mine have that feature. The trick is remembering which ones work that way.

The ones that frustrate me the most are the ones that you have to cycle through the other modes to get back to bright.

My wife bought me a Craftsman stick style battery LED work light. Flashlight on the end with 1 more click and both with another and then off. Magnet mount and a hook on the end, goes anywhere. Love it.
