Sway Bar Improvements for a '61 Coupe

Post by BigBirdBrain »

Are there any HD sway bars from an OEM donor car that fit the '61 bullet birds?

I see several aftermarket offerings, but was hoping there might be one that fits from off a '61 Buick station wagon with a trailer package or something?

Thanx in advance for any info!

The aftermarket ones are fine, friend of mine put both front and rear sway bars on his 61 and it greatly improved the handling and tracking but they're pricey,,,

I'm not aware of any. The OEM stabilizer bar has some bends in it related to clearing the generator and other suspension components. My advice to you is "bite the bullet" and get one that's been specifically designed for a '61-'63. I've had one of those on my '63 hardtop since 2005 and it does improve cornering and handling.
