67 with A/C heater core

I am a new owner of 67. My first TBird, although I have owned over 50 vintage mustangs. I have seen the Chilton`s instructions on removing core. i`m guessing they want it to come out the front inside the engine bay? If so; seems like you would want to remove the cyl. head to gain access to the huge suitcase? Also there is so much seam sealer around the case to the firewall it will be very difficult to even locate the fasteners, much less break it free. Or does it come out from under the dash? Has anyone surgically cut into the case successfully to remove and patch. If anyone has a photo of the inside of one of theses; it would be a great help. Thanks.
