Been waiting for many, many years to get an antique tag on my Bird, it's got to be 30 y/o here in Florida to get that pretty aqua-blue tag with white letters(it's gonna look great on a black car).......I got my first sign that I'm getting close when I got my renewal in the mail last week, my rate went from $47. a year to $22. and once I register for that special tag, it should be around $12. a year for a sticker, it's only $7.50 a year for my Fox Mustang, they go by weight here in Florida..........
Hopefully someone will not take my Bird out in the next couple months, and believe me,they do try just about every time I take her to town, I'm sure some of our members know exactly what I'm talking about.................

Re: Antique tag coming soon !!
Went to DMV yesterday and they said that my current due for a sticker is $21.10 a year, (more than my fox mustang because of weight difference), and that amount IS the antique price because this cycle does run past Jan.1st, it was $47.last year, now although the two friendly ladies tried to get me the antique plate that day, their computer would not take a 29 year old car, so long story short, they gave me a sticker to put on my current plate and told me to come back after new years and pick up a antique tag, also said for the tag alone for the first time is $28.bucks........................

Re: Antique tag coming soon !!
*UPDATE* I got to the DMV shortly after they opened this morning, walked in with my registration and said I wanted an antique plate, the lady looked at my reg. and started counting, that's when I said, she turned 30 yesterday, she said it would be $36. bucks, not sure why it was'nt $28. but that's fine, I just want my antique tag, she passed me over that aqua blue w/ white letters plate I've been wanting for so many years, I was so happy, I had to turn to the five people that was waiting behind me and showed them the tag and said, "I've been waiting for this day for 30 years", one of the older ladies said, "it use to be an ugly pastel blue w/ pastel yellow letters", yes, I agreed and said "it's one pretty tag now", so I took it out to the parking lot, put it on and took the current tag back inside and surrendered it, now I join the ranks of driving an antique Thunderbird and "yes" that aqua blue tag really looks great on a black Bird, I all ready get enough looks from the public, that antique tag I'm sure will even garnish more.................
