OK, this is literally going to be a photo dump of images from the 1985 Shop Manual-Part B (Volume I of II) and the Brake section. There's a bunch of info here, so take time to open all the photos in sequence and look at them on a larger screen that you can read.

To address previous comments: (1) There is no eccentric used for pedal adjustment; (2) There is an adjustment for the pushrod from the brake booster to the master cylinder; (3) In addition to the Proportioning Valve, there is a Pressure Differential Valve used in the system which needs to be centered, otherwise a warning light will come on.

It's important to note that adjustment of the rear brake self-adjusters is called out to be done by driving the car forward and backward 10-feet several times while applying the brake pedal (especially in the reverse direction). If you haven't done this, it may help explain why the pedal hasn't come back up to within specifications.

Alan,

Thanks for the confirmation about the push rod adjustment. As I noted, I thought it could be different than the first generation TBird's.

I had forgotten about the pressure differential valve. I now remember that my sister's '68 Mustang had one. It was always a little tricky to get it re=centered if you had to do any work on the wheel cylinders.
