Thumbnail Photos

Post by GeorgeG »

Is there a way to post small photos - like thumbnails - embedded in the text? I have a bunch of parts I'd like to sell but don't want to overwhelm the server with all the big photos. I'd like to make each line: part, price, photo. Is that even doable?

If you're concerned about uploading/attaching photos, the maximum size of file that can be uploaded is 4 Meg. With that being said, there is freeware available for a photo resizer program to reduce file size, and some versions of photo viewing programs already have a photo resize/reduction feature where you can open a photo file and save it as a smaller file. The larger the file, the higher the quality of the image, but you do want to try and pull size down for it to store on our server and display in the Forum.

Recently I have been working on resizing photos imported from my phone and found out that newer phones have a 'motion' feature that in essence creates a 1.5-second video, from which you have to save a still image. I was able to get 8-9 meg files down to less than 2-meg by going through a few steps which I won't go into here.

Thanks Alan, but I was referring to the physical size of the photos, not the number of pixels. I'd like to list several items for sale in a format like this:

Sale Item, Price, Small Photo

all on one line, where the photo itself is say 1" x 1". I don't think our setup allows this. Am I correct?

If no can do, I'll just put in photos showing several items all together in the existing (large) format. I like to put in photos of sale items; circumvents lots of questions.
