T85 C Transmission Tail Bushing

Post by tnswt12 »

What are you guys using as a best fit bushing for the T85C transmission extention housing bushing? This transmission is in my '57 E-Code TBird, 3-speed manual transmission with no overdrive. Providing a part number in your response would be great help if you know it. Thanks in advance for the help.

I suggest talking with the suppliers for the correct bushing - talk with their tech lines instead of just an order taker.

After additional discussion the correct bushing is Ford part B5AZ-7A034-B, not to be confused with the 7A034-A bushing.

It's the same bushing referenced for the overdrive unit in the parts book.

Work room is limited so having the correct puller and installer is extremely helpful. I used Manzel tool 7000-AD (puller) and Manzel 7000-J (installer) Tolerances when using the tools are very tight so it is essential to lubricate the tools prior to using.

I trust this information is helpful to others down the road.
