Post by Morrisonaf »

Hey folks, I’m on the next step of the journey.. I wanted to redo the rear suspension.. I already have the shocks and leaf springs but I was wondering if anyone had any info on getting bushings, insulators and ubolts.. any info would be greatly appreciated!!

I think I got all my parts for that same project from Bird Nest (except for the u-bolts). Oh, I got the springs from KC General Spring. When I took everything apart, I realized that new u-bolts would be a good idea, so I had a local truck parts supplier bend my up a set based on an old one I took in as a sample. All those parts should be readily available, and the job's not too bad.

Did you buy the shocks with the flared cover tube and the correct rock guards for the shocks?

I can get insulators at ecklers and the new leafs came with the front bushings so I really just need 4 insulators 4 ubolts and upper and lower rear shackle bushings.

These are correct.
Pics and info are courtesy of Mr Wulf.

My shock are soon to be engraved with this correct stamping.

Repo shocks are available. I'll get a picture of the part #if you're interested.
Springs are $6ish.

I can't think of a reason to go half-way onshocks after all the other work....
