'57 air cleaner decal

I'm slowly detailing my engine bay parts, the paint in the engine bay is not pristine, but it's a driver. I saw an air cleaner decal for my '57 (As usual it has the dress-up kit with the chrome lid) in a parts catalog and decided to tack it on an order. I've seen them for oil bath filters but not on replaceable filter bases. I searched the restoration manual but no reference as if it ever existed or where they were placed.
I'm thinking on the driver's side just underneath or behind the cork gasket where it can be seen. Just a little bling to help distract the eye.

These are the decals listed on the VTCI restore manual. Are you thinking of the oil bath decal which I've included a picture.

looks like you may be referring to decal number AC57. That’s a new one for me. Have never seen it on a 57 air cleaner. Learn something new everyday.

Yup, that's it. Never seen it installed before but like the lead battery tags, never have seen them before either. Kinda like the fan shroud caution stickers that nobody paid attention to.

I assume not on the chrome cover but on the base.

The decal was used for the 58-66 thunderbird air cleaner.

That makes sense, No wonder I've never seen it before on a '57. But it does ad some legitimate looking bling.

The decal is placed on the lid of the air cleaner. It is supposed to face the batter side.

Lew is correct. The decal does belong on a 57 in that location. For some reason they are rarely used. I’ve viewed some high end restorations and it’s there but not on all.

Probably left off as it's not really informative and just looks kinda funny cluttering up the chrome cover. As long as I have it I'll probably just put it on the side of the air cleaner body in the spring. -10deg here in Spokane right now.
