Just when I thought I knew every nut & bolt on my car.....
Had to get the 10 bolt Brake Booster rebuilt as it had a massive leak, the pedal was harder than a rock and the car was running lean [due to the vacuum leak]. Sent my original unit off for rebuilding and just got it back, with a post-it note attached, reminding me that "IMPORTANT-TWO PIECE SPACER IS REQUIRED FOR FUNCTION". When I took it apart and there was no spacer. I have the OEM manual and there is no spacer shown, only the nylon breather that fits flush with the booster. I checked several Parts site and the spacer is shown for the 10 bolt unit starting in 1967, but no one shows the 2 piece spacer for the 1961 model year. I called the place that rebuilt it and they insist it should be installed between the existing single compartment master cylinder and booster. You got me-has any other 1961/62 models have this 2 piece spacer and if yes, can you please send a pix? I have 4 wheel drum brakes and do not desire to convert to disc's-she is 100% original at this time [except for a Pertronix kit]. THANK YOU in advance.

I'm not aware of any 2 piece spacer on the 61-63 Midland Ross booster-MC setup.

THANK YOU! That matches mine; can you please post a pix of the front of the booster as well?
Re: Brake Booster & Master Cylinder mating
This is the only one I have, right before I sent it in for rebuilding.

Re: Brake Booster & Master Cylinder mating
I've installed three of these screw type boosters on my Thunderbirds in the past and never was there any additional spacers between the booster and the master cylinder; just be sure to set your pushrod length according to the service manual, I think it's a little under 1 in,,,
