I just bought a 64 Thunderbird. I love the car.
I was doing some work on the engine and noticed that a hose that is connected to the underside of the air cleaner is not connected at the other end. There is about a foot of rubber hose that is connected to the underside of the air cleaner, on the other end it is connected to about another foot of metal tube that is ferruled on the end. It's just hanging there. Where should this ferruled end be connected?? Help..??

The metal tube comes from the driver's side exhaust manifold. There are two tubes that go to the exhaust manifold - the one between the air cleaner and exhaust manifold and another between the exhaust manifold and the choke mechanism. This allows filtered air to be circulated from the air cleaner through a chamber in the exhaust manifold, which in turn heats air that goes to the thermostatic spring inside the choke housing.
