Fuel gauge quit working

Hello. My 57 third fuel gauge quit working. It doesn’t Regeaters at all. The needle bounced several times and then just quit. I looked under the dash and I didn’t see a fuse. Where should I start first?

First start by taking the wire off the sender and ground it with the key on. If the gauge moves more than likely it's not the gauge (unless the wire that goes to the back is bad - then you can check the wire for power with a simple test light). Then the sender comes into play - no experience with sender checks so I hope some one else pops in here.
