tonneau cover 1964 tbird
Hi, I am looking for some information on a tonneau cover for 1964-65 thunderbird. Was this an option for these years T-Birds? I know it was part of the 1962-63 package but unsure what changed in the following years. Did ford make the fiberglass piece or just the accessories? Any information would be appreciated.
Ford did offer a tonneau cover for the 64 convertible these where made to go with the roadster package for 64 which was not offered when they went into production but the tonneau or wire wheels could have been ordered with the car when it was built. The tonneau and 14 " wheels could also be obtained from the dealers parts department if you wished to have them added, the tonneau could have also been added to 65 and 66's if there where still any left at that time but the 14" wheels could could be used with the new for 65 disc brakes as they would not fit over them. As far as finding a original tonneau today it is slim and expensive, there are reproductions made that are close to the originals but do not fit near as well and the trim is a bit different, as far as the wheels they are reproduced in 14 & 15" the 15 will fit over the brake parts on the 65 & 66.

Re: tonneau cover 1964 tbird
I have a 1964 Thunderbird convertible that came with an optional tonneau cover. I plan to purchase a 1962 T-Bird convertible in the near future. My question is: Will the 64 cover fit the 62 Bird ?

Short answer is no. 61,62,63 body styles were same and should be the same tonneau and 64,65,66 were the same body style but different from the 61-63 and would use a tonneau cover for that era.
