I have been running 90w mineral oil in my 3-speed transmission for years now and did so on the advice of that famous T-Bird mechanic.
I've not been happy with the shifting.
Today I drained the transmission and filled with 3 pints of Driven Coventional SAE 80w 90 Gear Oil (GL-4), and I took a drive.
The shifting is like the difference between night and day. No more clashing and scrapping when shifting. I am absolutely amazed at the performance difference between these two lubricants in my particular case.
