Exhaust Tip Length - 1955

Post by bobgreco2000 »

Hey everyone,

I hope all is well. I am wondering how far the exhaust tips are supposed to stick out from the Chrome bracket. Please see the attached photo. Does this look correct? Is there a correct dimension?

Thanks!

Bob

From what I can tell from pictures of original cars it looks like the pipes should only stick out about a half inch at most from the bumper guards. You will see plenty that stick out farther, but I don't believe that is correct.

Bob, I agree with Lew. Most are about 1/2”. years ago I had the same decision to make having never seen a specified length. I decided on 1”. Just a personal preference.
On a separate note, I’ve always thought the Golden Rod 55 black and yellow interior was one of the greatest color combinations ever on any car. Have never been lucky enough to own one.

Thanks Lew and Mark. That is kind of what I thought.
