My brother has a 63 tbird, with 390. The oil pan,is pretty beat up. He is wanting to replace it. Is there anything special, about the oil pan,on a 63 t bird? Where would be a good place for him to find one.
Thanks, for any suggestion,or help!

Re: 1963 T bird oil pan
The original drain plug is located off to the driver's side of the pan sump, which is at the rear of the engine. Replacement pans from more common full-size Fords/Mercurys/trucks typically have the plug at the rear of the sump. The side-mounted plug allows for oil to be drained without hitting the body crossmember on a T-bird. A rear-mounted plug will work fine as long as you're aware that clearance between the pan and crossmember will be tight, and that when it comes time to drain the pan that the stream of oil coming out may hit the crossmember.
