hissing sound

Post by SNEHO »

It maybe a dumb question however just started by bird to go around the block and when I put it in gear I get a hissing sound. Put back in park and it stops. Any ideas?

It is your parking brake release. Perhaps the diaphragm has sprung a leak.

I'd guess the hose got kicked off the neutral safety switch. Look under the lower steering column for vacuum hoses that go to a switch screwed to the column. JMO, good luck, Bob C
