Trunk springs replaced
Does the trunk have to be removed to replace springs
Re: Trunk springs replaced
You would need to use along screw driver as a lever to release the tension but I would do it one at a time.

Re: Trunk springs replaced
I removed my trunk lid when I did mine, I removed the hinge placed in a vise. Found I had to move the hinge further than can be done when assembled on the car. Mark all the locations of the hinge and trunk lid before disassembly. This is a very strong spring. When in the vise it easy peasy
Also worth mentioning, the trunk lid is much heavier than it looks.

Re: Trunk springs replaced
Google said that hinge could be worn so bad that the hinge may need spot weld and they told me how. However I showed this to my body man and he said my hinges were not worn and that maybe during restoration that trunk may have had extra metal and paint just enough to not let trunk close. So he is currently making a short piece to put under one hinge when trunk is raised. Just to use at car shows. Piece will pivot and stay in trunk. Thanks
