Fuel leak at filter only when car has not been used in awhile

Post by cbaskin »

I have an odd problem with my 67 tbird, 390. On the first start after sitting for awhile the fuel seems to back up and leak around the fuel filter. I disassemble the fuel line connections to the filter and put it back together and then seems fine. Could the carb close up if it sits for awhile? An air pocket of some sort develops? Should I open the carb up before I pump the gas and start the engine, like what you do when it is flooded? Any ideas?
