If you have the old tank, contact Tank Re-Nu.
They take your original tank and recoat it inside and out.
I had one from a 1948 Pontiac that I couldn't find a replacement to them and they did a beautiful job.

Check out "SPECTRA" fuel tanks out of Quebec Canada. They are reproducing fuel tanks, They may have one to fit your car. They do not sell direct to public, but available thru RAD shops. They protect their distributors, and this is something I like to see.
I just picked up one for my 64 Bird, brand new and cheaper than having old tank boiled and sealed.
They have an office local to me in the Toronto area and got the tank within 24 hours.

Yes, I'm still looking for the fuel tank for a 71 thunderbird. Will the tank from the 70 fit, I was told it changed from 70 to 71.

I would have thought these years were the same. 69' & 72' were different.
