BTW, exactly how firmly is the mirror SUPPOSED to be attached to the door? Should there any any wiggle at all? The mirror pedestal housing on mine got messed up by a previous owner.

It supposed to be snug to the door. I just finished putting mine together. I took off the front screw by the cave like hole. It fit perfectly then I put the set screw in and now it’s tight.

This shows how the '64 Deluxe/'65-'66 exterior rear view mirror attaches to the door.
