I hope that your project goes well.

A great starting point is to purchase the shop manual as well as other documents about the 1956 TBird. That information will be a major advantage as you complete the work.

I also suggest that forum members will be better able to help you if you create a new thread for each topic. For example, start a new post with the title "'56 Horn Location". The members viewing this forum will more quickly know if they can help you.

Hi, If your going to restore a 56 baby bird I would first get the manuals that will guide you to put the part in the right place. So I strongly suggest for you to at least buy this manual from Larry's Thunderbird order part # TLT 9 $10.95

I took a few measurements that may r my not help you with the horn location incase the dimensions are not specified in one of the manuals you are buying.
In my car the location of the holes from the bottom of the panel is slightly different drivers side and passenger side but hopefully they are of some help and if your hole for the headlight wiring is in the panel then you can locate the correct position. Note the bracket is sort of pointed upwards for the horn to be located correctly as per the electrical diagram already posted above.
Driver side height from bottom of panel approx 2inch and 3&1/2 in

5-hornbolts4.jpg
Passenger side approx 1&3/4 inch and 3&1/4 inch - obviously the bracket holes will help you get distance between holes more accurate.
