Looking for Replacement Center Caps for 14" Wire Wheels on 57

Post by TJSHEA »

Hello;

I have been looking through all of the parts catalogs i have and have been unable to locate replacement center caps for the 14" wire wheels on my 57. They were on the car when i bought it, and i do not know how old the wheels are or the manufacturer. Anyone know where i might be able to find some?

In case you weren't aware of this, the wire wheels were not factory for 55-57: they were an option for '62-'64 Tbirds (STD for Sports Roadsters) and are a popular (though not authentic) retro addition to 55-57s. A solid spinner center was used for 62, the style pictured is 63-64 and originally only had a black background. In the '90s repops started coming out with other background colors. The classic and vintage T-bird vendors carry them in their catalogs.

Thanks. Perfect suggestion. Contacted Coker. They had exactly what I was looking for. Didn't know they sold wheels too. Thanks for the insight on the wire wheels. Thought the 57 T Bird may may have had an option for wire wheels, then was told they were only wire wheel looking hub caps, I'd rather have the real wheels, although not looking forward to cleaning them. Thanks again.
