1957 T-BIRD Hood Hinges

Post by moparmusclecars »

Folks, can someone please help me out? I have been attempting to restore an older Lady's 57. This has been her dream car since she was 5 years old, and recently discovered she may have cancer. Her husband was basically crying at my shop because he lost his first wife to cancer. I am down to needing a decent pair of hood hinges, after the one's on the car were found to be bent due to a front collision, at some point in the car's life. We had rebuilt them, but after mounting them to the header supports and hood they just are not right. Does anyone have a set of good hinges they would be willing to sell me, so i can finish this Lady's dream car before something happens to her? Please! If not, what supplier or company would have a set, I could buy? I am just a small town guy trying to make a old lady's dream car come back to life so she can actually drive it. I want to see that smile put on her face.......Thanks, Everyone.

They are not available as new or reproduction but you can try calling CASCO 1-800-374-0914 or HILL'S 1-740-949-2217. They both sell used parts and may be able to help you out.

Just a thought. Not sure if they are the same. Will the hood hinges from a 57 galaxy fit a 57 thunderbird. If so,they might be easier to find.

I had checked Ebay, and although i found many ford hood hinges, they were not for a 55-57 Thunderbird. If you find any on there please pm me. I would appreciate it. I believe we have already called the all the suppliers mentioned, and none had any sitting there. That is the main reason i came here to ask. Still searching if anyone has a set they would sell me. A far as 57 Galaxie hood hinges, they are totally different, but thanks for the advice. TY

Do they sell the pivot pins for the hood hinges? One of mine broke. I guess I will need to drill it out as it will not budge when using a punch. , but I wonder where to get the pivot pin or if I should just use a bolt with a lock nut.
