1957 Thunderbird
I am re-assembling the window regulators, new glass, etc. for both doors. I have new #21478 Retainer Door Glass Upper Rubber (whew). In order to attach it tightly to the glass and have neat square corners for the stainless channel it appears I need to score the rubber in some fashion. And maybe remove some rubber material to make a 90 degree bend? The material is too stiff to bend over the glass without doing something to it.
Pure curiousity leads me to ask why the rubber has a fabric facing? It will all be covered up after installation. Right?
Thanks!

Good question. I'm about to do the same thing and am a bit confused myself. Some vendors have two styles of material and another only offers one.

There are two different types of designs and materials used for #21478. The 55 and 56 TBirds used the same, all rubber, type. The 57 TBird uses a fabric covered rubber. That one I knew!
