Chris Ames' Water Pump Spacer

Post by 55blacktie »

Is anyone using Chris Ames's water pump spacer with the latest Casco HO pump/w cast impeller? Chris said that he has experienced at least one clearance issue with a 2nd-generation Casco pump/w riveted impeller vanes. It's possible that one or more rivets gave way, resulting in the impeller's being offset. I've heard that there have been cases of the riveted impeller coming loose and causing damage. That's probably why the new Casco pump has a cast impeller. I do have Chris's spacer, but it won't be installed until my engine is being rebuilt.

Thanks!
