85 Turbo Coupe horns

Post by Lars Kneller »

The horns on my 85 Turbo Coupe keep failing. They stop working, I replace the horns and they'll work fine for a while, and then they go on the fritz again. I am on my 3rd set. Any ideas as to why they are failing? Thanks.

Start by checking all your wiring. Sounds like you may have a short that is shorting out the horn mechanism.

Get the shop manuals or at least a Chilton manual to trace the wiring. Having a shop do this will be big $$$.

Even a good electrical repair person should be able to help.

Hope this helps,

Hmmm make sure they have a good ground. Manually ground to the battery with a jumper and see if it functions.
