Re: Hood Latch Adjustment

I just put the hood back on my '61. Hood is aligned just fine, but the passenger side latch doesn't want to release. Driver's side is fine. If I juggle the front of the hood and have a friend yank on the hood release again, the hood finally opens. Is this just a matter of shifting the latch assembl...

Re: Aftermarket gas tank

Hi, The fuel tank I took out is probably junk yard - it's marked 61-63 Tbird, but it has the longer neck on the tank. that was connected to the filler pipe with about 6" of rubber hose. So I now have the new fuel tank, I've cleaned the filler pipe, I'm so happy to come across this forum becaus...

Re: 1961 Parking Brake / E-Brake rear cables

Having had more time to clear the rusty metal from the panels under the seat, I can now see that there is really only one place that these bracket can attach, as they have to clear the drive shaft. Could someone just confirm my thoughts that they are welded to the under seat panels. The reason I as...

Re: Floor pan replacement, advice?

Thanks, this is super helpful! Could you measure the height of your brake pedal off the floor and how much higher it is than the gas pedal? Is yours stock booster and master or changed to what? This is FIL's car and he has some issues with brake pedal height above gas pedal, it was too high and he ...

Re: Empty dash hole near ignition?

It's the emergency brake Red lens warning light housing. When the emergency brake is left on when you start the car the light will be on warning the driver .The Red lens is the hardest part to find. The entire housing is spring loaded and is difficult to re engage back into place. I can make correc...

Re: coolant leak from transmission cooling line?

Those rubber freeze plugs will work just fine. If simply tightening it doesn't cure the leak, it may indicate that the plug is damaged from initial overtightening, using an unnecessary sealer, or poor quality rubber. Commonly available Dorman plugs are made in China, harder to find E-Z Seal plugs ar...

Re: Floor pan replacement, advice?

Here's some accelerator photos with measurements that will help to get you close to where the screws should be located. Your measurements may be slightly different because of the repairs. The measurements are from the actual sheet metal, not the carpet surface: image001.jpg image002.jpg image003.jpg

Re: Cleaning out the fuel system 1962 T-Bird

Hey all you great t bird friends, I just got a 62 that I’m going through. It starts and drives and looks damn good from about 25 ft away. I can’t complain. The guy said he filled it with gas just before I got it. With what gas? I have no idea. When you hit the gas it picks up and goes but some Blac...

Re: '63 door painting detail question

Is it correct, for my Corinthian White Hardtop to have "shadowing" or "black-out" sprayed, basically where it can't much be seen, like behind/beneath the cat whisker strip, and the upper cavity that the vent window assembly slides down into? Pretty sure it is supposed to be ther...

Re: What is this

Thank you!!! The hunt begins lol NOS washer bags are very, very scarce. Some of the reproductions are pretty good and acceptable for most judging except perhaps for a VTCI "Authenticity" award. You can see a perfect NOS bag in my PDF book. It took me a couple of years to find that one fou...

Re: M code Fuel Line

Does anyone know if anybody is producing a preformed fuel pump to fuel rail fuel line for the 3x2 motors? I have a 4bbl 63 thunderbird but I have factory 6bbl on my 59 Galaxie that came from a later Galaxie (with the galaxie stepped carb pads, galaxie air cleaner, and galaxie carbs.. 2436/2347) but...

Re: Lens - instrument cluster warning lamp.

Karl,

I have an extra pair if you want them. The "DIS" lens has a tiny corner missing, but that's the way it came from the factory, as the original clear tape retainer is still in place. 1960's era quality control I guess. Jim

Thanks for posting that info Alan. I'm now in touch with the OP and clarifying specific bracket questions with him.
