Installing fender skirts on 66
I have the factory trim on and fiberglass skirts. They have been on the car over 20 years. I recently acquired this and struggle with installing the skirts. Its almost like a manipulation of the rear and middle pins to get them to fit and then the front pin snaps into place. I dont even know how sto...

Re: Performance questions
Just to clarify, I used improper terminology before when I said I have tall gears in the rear end. I have the opposite. I had to replace my speedo gear with a 20 tooth gear even though I have what I think are stock size tires. The speedo read something like 10-12 mph high until I did this. To me th...

Re: Performance questions
Im thinking the rear end ratio is the biggest problem. 3.00 is really low. I was thinking the same thing. 315 horse, thats it? of course, 1000 lbs heavier than anything else of comparable size doesnt help either. Some 3.55`s would probably do a lot,,,especially to gas mileage!

Re: stock tire size
215/75R/15 The stock 815 x 15 is 28" tall. The 215 radial is about 27.6" tall. Width may be slightly wider as I believe the old tires were an 80 series and the comparison radials are a 75 series. When I bought my new wheels and tires, I called many shops to find someone that is into old ca...

That there is great input! I was thinking about a high end cover and you helped explain why, the condensation which I didnt think about. I do bodywork and paint as a hobby and 3M is the best company in the US as far as Im concerned. They have the best products without a doubt. Hmmm, got myself off t...

Outside winter storage
Unfortunately I need to leave the bird outside for a few months in the winter. ::? I cant put up a structure, so a cover is the best I can do. The covers I have looked at say water resistant, not proof. There will be various amounts of snow on the vehicle thru out the winter. Any thoughts on this? O...

Have you specifically talked to a drive line specialist? Given a specific rpm Im wondering if its like out of balance tires( oh,at 65, yep,its wheel balance). Even though you inspected them, under load may be a different story. And, sorry if this is redundant, but just trying to rule out things as o...

Some engine compartment color questions
66 model I think I read this all somewhere, but my searches and brain leave me stranded. Battery hold down: were some blue and some black? Mine looks like it was blue,, Trans and oil dipsticks: blue or natural/silver? Slowly repainting engine compartment and would like to be as original looking as p...

Dash speaker upgrade
Any opinions about some of the stereo speaker kits to replace the stock dash speaker? I dont really want to cut holes in any panels.
Do they sound worth the money? Thanks, Frank
