Re: 55' engine swap two choices don't know what i want to do
It has been done before but I cannot find any information about putting the big block into the little bird. I have seen you tube videos of little birds with big blocks but nobody goes into showing the mounting system they used. I know there was an article published about installing a 390 in an old p...

Re: 428 engine swap in my 55 T-bird
I see you also posted down below in the "modified" forum. That's really where this needs to be. Anyway. It has been done before but I cannot find any information about putting the big block into the little bird. I have seen you tube videos of little birds with big blocks but nobody goes in...

Re: Bad day
Did you tack it from the inside or the outside? If on outside did you have issues with lead blowout or contamination?

Re: Bad day
I didn't address your question earlier regarding a body shop. Any body shop should be capable of doing the work. Just remember the adage. "you get what you pay for". My advice is to contact your local Thunderbird club and talk with those people. They certainly have members who do not do bo...

Re: Bad day
I want to start out saying I'm not trying to ruin your day but you need to hear and understand what you have there. If you think the car was painted mid-eighties it could be acrylic. Anyway, I don't think it would have a two part paint (base coat/clear coat). My guess is that it's enamel. You could ...

Re: where go these Fender Front Splash Shield Seal
when I click on the image from the OP it says P/N P-16254BK. I know whenever I ordered kits from Larry's in CA that their kits usually end with BK (maybe it stands for bird kit?) I put that number p16245bk in at Larry's web page and it shows the same picture and says it is " fender front splash...

Re: where go these Fender Front Splash Shield Seal
When I look up that part number at Larry's T'Bird it says it is the fender seals for full size ford 1955 & 1956. I will try to attach the picture from my Thunderbird parts digest and use that as reference to help identify what you have. Remember your parts are Passenger car seals and not Thunder...

Re: Finding original dealer/sale information
You can buy the original window sticker from CTCI. Ford started throwing out the records years ago and some one saved them. They are missing early 1955 but have the rest. The window sticker should have the information you want except for original owner. I don't know how you could get that information.

Re: 57 Thunderbird color
My '55 was originally white with black / white interior. Then it was changed to red with a red / white interior. When I got it the guy was trying to redo the car while driving it. He wasn't very successful. It was black primer with a red dash and a red / white seat. The rest of the interior was gutt...

Re: 1955 Rear Sheet Metal
I met a guy in Plymouth, MA who is selling 1955 Thunderbird parts. He has a numbers matching front clip and frame. He also has the rear clip. He has an ad on craigslist in the Boston, MA listings, He wants $2K for the complete lot of parts if anyone is interested. I think if you wait a few weeks he ...
